The Playstation 3 is designed to be more than simply a video game console; it supports every digital entertainment kind and is mainly a home-entertainment computer. This Cell Processor was developed with the combined efforts of IBM, Toshiba, and Sony, and is their solution to the increasing trend of multi-core processing.
The Playstation 3 also comes in two models, the 20GB Playstation 3 Model and the 60GB Playstation 3 Model. The 20GB model has the console’s basic configuration, and comes in a rather lower price (US9 suggested retail price) than the 60GB model. The 60GB model or sometimes referred to as the “premium” version comes with a 60GB Serial ATA 2.5” internal hard drive, as well as more brilliant silver-colored trim, Wi-Fi connectivity, and multiple flash memory card readers; it costs a hundred dollars more though, with a suggested retail price of US9.
